Dr. Dougherty received training from the North Carolina School of the Arts, Piedmont Bible College (PBC) and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He has performed with the Greensboro and Winston-Salem Symphonies (NC), Market Street Brass, Stratford Brass, and is a substitute with the Des Moines and Cedar Rapids Symphony Orchestras. George has taught at PBC and provided trumpet instruction for Guilford College (NC). Currently he teaches at Faith Baptist Bible College of Ankeny, IA where he directs the instrumental music and music education programs.
