He has worked as a middle school and high school band director, taught at John Wesley and Pfeiffer Colleges, and since 1996 has directed the Duncan Music Teaching Studio. Mike freelances frequently throughout the Triad region of North Carolina, is active as an adjudicator and clinician, and is a founding member of the Stratford Brass Quintet.
