Dr. Nichols is based in Greenville, SC, where he works as a free-lance musician and as the Director of SoundForth publications. Formerly he taught at Clearwater Christian College (FL). He holds degrees from Bob Jones University, Southern Methodist University, and The Ohio State University. He has been principal horn of the Cape Town Philharmonic (South Africa), performed with the US Army Band "Pershing's Own" (Washington, D.C.), and substitutes with the Florida Orchestra and Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. Richard is also active as a composer/arranger, publishing with Shawnee, Lorenz, and his own Canticle Press.
