Mr. Powell holds degrees in trumpet performance from Bob Jones University and The Florida State University. He has performed with the Jacksonville (FL) and Savannah (GA) Symphonies, Florida Symphony Orchestra, North Shore Concert Band (IL), South Bend Symphony (IN), Boston Brass and Quintessence Brass. He co-founded the National Trumpet Competition of Washington, D.C. and serves as Associate Director for the event. Residing near Elkhart, IN, Fred is the owner of TrumpeTech, Inc., a brass instrument repair, design, customization, and restoration shop.
