Just a Little Off the Top

Following the success of their first album, Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs, Artisans in Brass produced a second album with a slightly more humorous tone. Presenting unique and fresh arrangements of timeless classics, patriotic and sacred works while including exciting, modern and original compositions, Artisans In Brass entertains and engages, honing their craft and advancing the art of the brass quintet in Just a Little Off the Top.

Just A Little Off the Top contains many of the songs that have become audience favorites from AIB's acclaimed recitals and artist series concerts. These include standard quintet selections that have stood the test of time, but also encompass lighter and encore fare. Patriotic and sacred numbers are in the mix, and original works for brass quintet such as Rick Nichols' La Danza and Eric Ewazen's Grand Valley Fanfare are featured. Corey Dawson's Barber of Seville setting concludes the album and furnishes the inspiration for the artwork and cover motif.
